Imbued with gentle naivety, these elaborately wrought designs have the gift of feeling simple. Maya, an urbane chevron embroidery found inspiration in the intricacy of Mayan stonework while Jepara, a pocket weave cloth resembles the handcrafted Batik method of dyeing. Dharma, a screen printed linen was inspired by the traditional Kashmiri paisley, wet on dry printed to create an aged, delicate appearance representative of classic folk art. Artisan dyed sheers and loosely woven weaves uphold the handcrafted appearance that Mark Alexander strives to achieve.
